Rxte Observations of Grs 1915+105

چکیده
We report on extensive X-ray observations of the galactic superlu-minal motion source GRS 1915+105 with the RXTE satellite over the last year. More than 130 RXTE pointings have been performed on roughly a weekly basis. GRS 1915+105 displays drastic X-ray intensity variations on a variety of time scales ranging from sub-seconds to days. In general, the intensity changes are accompanied by spectral changes on the same timescale. Three types of bursts with typical durations between 10–100 sec have been identified which have drastically different spectral properties and seem to occur in a fixed sequence. One of the most intense bursts has a bolometric X-ray luminosity of ≈5×10 39 erg/s during the 25 sec maximum-intensity part.

Simultaneous Integral/rxte Observations of Grs 1915+105
We report here the first results of the spectral and timing analysis of our simultaneous INTEGRAL/RXTE observations of GRS 1915+105.The first observation ever performed with INTEGRAL revealed a new class of variability, where changes of luminosity seem driven by changes in the Comp-tonising medium. The spectro-temporal study of our data taken later, in the steady state, could show the influence...

We analyse a set of three RXTE Target of Opportunity observations of the Galactic microquasar GRS 1915+105, observed in April 2000. We concentrate on the timing properties of the source, and examine the properties of a low frequency QPO, with its harmonic, in several energy ranges. The source was found in two different states of the spectro/temporal classification of Belloni et al. (2000), and ...
متن کاملOsse and Rxte Observations of Grs 1915+105: Evidence for Non-thermal Comptonization
GRS 1915+105 was observed by the CGRO/OSSE 9 times in 1995-2000, and 8 of those observations were simultaneous with those by RXTE. We present an analysis of all of the OSSE data and of two RXTE-OSSE spectra with the lowest and highest X-ray fluxes. The OSSE data show a power-law–like spectrum extending up to & 600 keV without any break. We interpret this emission as strong evidence for the pres...
متن کاملTwo Years of Integral Monitoring of Grs 1915+105 Part 1: Multiwavelength Coverage with Integral, Rxte, and the Ryle Radio Telescope
We report the results of monitoring observations of the Galactic microquasar GRS 1915+105 performed simultaneously with INTEGRAL and RXTE from 3 up to ∼300 keV, and the Ryle Telescope at 15 GHz. We present the results of the whole INTEGRAL campaign, report the sources that are detected and their fluxes and identify the classes of variability in which GRS 1915+105 is found. The long and continuo...
متن کاملInner disk oscillations
The RXTE observations of GRS 1915+105 have given a new impulse to the study of spectral and timing properties of the X-ray emission of black hole candidates. At variance with any other known source, GRS 1915+105 shows dramatic changes on time scales as short as a tenth of a second. These changes are associated to marked spectral changes which have been interpreted as changes of the observable i...
